You’re going to "wish it was here" … retiring item of the day.

Warm weather is upon us … many families will be joining friends and heading out the door to discover new places. One of the things I’m always sure to do while I’m on vacation is to check out the postcards in the “typical” gift shop setting. It’s a picture perfect way to send greetings to those who aren’t there to experience the fun … “wishing you were here!”

Let me introduce today’s retiring list item, the Post Card Stamp Set (clear – item # 130369/ wood – item # 130366).

Design by Rachel Durtshci

This cute card is so adorable! I can see using this stamp for not only vacations, but also scrapbook layouts and invitations, too.

It even has a spot you could place a stamp. Rachel did such a great job with this design as it just highlights all the pretty scenes of spring.

Send pleasant wishes someone’s way with this retiring stamp set!

Retired list item of the day …

Decorative window boxes have been one of my favorite “go to” items from the Stampin’ Up! catalog. It’s such an easy-made box and already has the artsy window frame to appeal to anyone you present it to as a gift.

Favorite or not, they are on the retired list for 50 percent off and won’t be there for long! They are cute by themselves, but I like to add a tag and tie a cute bow on to add a personal touch.

These boxes are ideal for any gift you want to share with a friend, family member or co-worker. I’ve used them to send candy, baked goods, jewelry and all sorts of other goodies.

I am also in love with their counterparts, the large kraft box, regular-sized kraft box, which are also discounted and on the retired list.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to grab these items at a huge discount. Happy stampin!

Breast Cancer Recovery Cards for a Cause event.

Last night we welcomed the ladies from the Breast Cancer Recovery group and their guests to another Cards for Cause fundraising event. The card class was led by my upline, Shirley Merker as she is a member of the group and has attended a few of their retreats.

Fun was had by all, making cards at each station. Beginners and experienced stampers both enjoyed themselves, too. Check out this short clip below for photos of the event.
Attendees went home with 8 hand-made cards and some new friends! Even better, it provides women with more support from our donation.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who made last night’s event special. A big thanks for Jules Pilates Studio in Madison for providing the location.

Do you have a “cause” or charity/organization that you would like for us to help raise funds? We are currently adding more dates to the calendar! Contact me for your chance to help someone in need.

Butterflies and a great cause.

Hello friends. Do you remember my post, “Beware of Dragons,” about a month ago? Well, I am heading to that event tonight!

Here’s the card I am presenting to the group of ladies tonight. One of my favorite punches is the butterfly punch and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pair it with our In-Color paper background sheets. You might notice some of these supplies are on the retired list at a discounted price. Don’t delay if you want to snatch up some of these supplies because when they are gone, they are gone!

All the supplies you would need to build this card are:

Just in time … a pumpkin in my mailbox … the "saga" continues.

The head-honchos at the Stampin’ Up! offices must have been sharing the same vibes. Just in time for Mother’s and Father’s Day, the April 2015 Paper Pumpkin is full of supplies to make each, mom and dad’s days special.

Most of us will use one to three cards for each family member (mom, dad, grandparents), so I love how Stampin’ Up! allows us to utilize these supplies in a different way, too! As you can see below, there are thank you notes, and other sentiments included, too.

If you aren’t a subscriber already, what’s holding you back? Is it time, money, lack of crafty-bone? Don’t worry, this product is what I recommend to beginners AND experienced stampers. The step-by-step instructions (with photos) are easy to follow.

Is money the issue? For a low fee of $19.99, you will receive your paper pumpkin kit with all supplies needed (except tape) to build the project each month. Paper, embellishments, stamps for you to keep forever, ink and envelopes (as needed), and a clear stamp block (block comes in the first shipment for future use). The quality and supplies are better than the craft stores and it comes to you!
That’s less than a dollar a day! Need to skip a month? Not a problem, you can skip (aka: temporarily suspend) your subscription as needed. Easy peasey!

Yeah, yeah Andrea … I’ve such a busy schedule already, how am I going to fit one more thing into my day? Most of us NEED sentiment cards for loved ones and friends. It takes 30 minutes for your paper pumpkin escape and you have a handful of perfectly-made cards, gift boxes, etc. Welp, now I don’t have to run to the store and take that time, and gas, out of my day to pick up a card. Plus, everyone loves a hand-made card, so personal.

These kits also make great gifts and craft projects for others (kids included).

See a paper pumpkin kit from the past year (including this one) that you missed or want more of, to have all to yourself? Refill kits can be purchased, too! Refill kits are only available to current paper pumpkin subscribers.

A huff and a puff …

Have you ever heard of “huffing” … I promise, it’s not a shady secret. I personally didn’t know about it until about a year ago until one of my stampin’ friends started breathing heavily on her stamps. Can you say … weirdo!? HA! In all good fun … it’s a technique to moisten “dried” ink on your stamp.

It’s usually used when you use markers instead of an ink pad to color your stamp. It allows you to use more than one color within the single stamp. Neat, huh? It’s called “marker to stamp” technique.

The cute doggie in the video above looks way cuter with the 3-color dimension.

Retired list is here!

A mother is a special person.

It wasn’t until I had my own child that I truly realized how special a mother’s job is to the next generation. I always knew my own mom worked really hard each day, but it puts your own life in perspective.

I always try to make the day special for my mom, who is now a grandmother.

Here’s a picture of my awesome mom (and little man when he was younger).

She works hard as a farmer’s wife, gardens the most beautiful flowers I’ve seen, and is a retired school bus driver and caretaker.

I also have a really cool mother-in-law who will bend over backwards for her kids and grandkid. 🙂

Here’s a photo of my mom-in-law (also with little man).

She works hard as a nurse, farmer and housewife. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty.

I am always trying to think of ideas for Mother’s Day cards during the month of April. After all, April showers bring May flowers … and mothers like flowers!

Design by Rachel Durtshci

Here’s a cute and easy punch art card that brings out the spring tulips.

This was made with the builder bird punch (wing) and with an embossing folder.

I may use the pansy petal punch (which happens to be discounted on the weekly deals until Monday, April 20th 11:59 p.m. MT) and flower shop stamp set.

Of course, I won’t be posting my card design until the big day in order not to ruin the surprise (Hi Mom!).

No worries, for those of you still needing to order supplies before Mother’s Day, there is still time.
