Little men and their tractors.

Red or green? That’s the running question between our two families most of the time. For those of you wondering what I mean, it’s been known, some farm-folk are very sensitive to what kind of tractor they drive.
Little man doesn’t seem to have a preference as of yet … as long as it has tires, he’s good!
However, both of his grandpas try their hardest to sway the notion.
Luckily for most of you, green or red isn’t a decision you have to make since the holiday catalog has plenty of both colors to share. By now, I hope you’ve been able to take a peek into the pages because before you know it our first holiday will be peeking it’s head around the corner.
Not a customer of mine? Well, contact me for a catalog to get you started! Follow the link or send me an email through my blog or Stampin’ Up! website andrealh.stampinup.net
As little man would say, off we go … Vroooooom!

Oh my glitter !!

If you know me well, you know that I try to stay away from glitter as much as possible, but that doesn’t keep me from sharing it with people who do. 😉

If you are one of those weirdos (just kidding, but not really) who enjoy working with glitter, well then, these weekly deals are just for you!

Don’t forget, Paper Pumpkin is still holding their HALFOFF promotion until September 10th!

Relaxing …

At least once a year the hubs and I try to travel somewhere from all the hustle and bustle of daily norms to relax.

Relaxation is one of those things that can share many versions of a definition. For some it’s laying on the beach, sleeping in until you wake with no alarms, reading a good book, sitting in a tree stand or taking an adventurous drive. My definition? Crafting … Duh! 😉
It’s only been a day into our vacation, but it’s already been nice to wind down. We decided to take on the beach this time. I plan on getting some crafting accomplished as I brought along my paper pumpkin kit!

Speaking of paper pumpkin, don’t miss out on the 1/2 off the first two months for new subscribers promotion happening now until September 10th.
Head to http://www.paperpumpkin.com to start getting your kit and enter the code HALFOFF. Choose me as your demonstrator and receive free catalogs for Stampin’ Up! supplies.

Farmer … defining the meaning in a new way!

Sunday, fun day!

Since moving back to the east coast, we’ve rejoined some of our friends in agriculture education groups … one being Young Farmers. This group is focused on education, securing the future of agriculture, and for those persons between ages 18-35 who are looking to further themselves in an agriculture-related field or promote agriculture-based education. Have you heard of Farm Bureau? It’s a branch off  for younger members. Neat, huh?
To see the full Young Farmers brochure CLICK HERE.

Thinking this is a fun group? Yep, you are right! Thinking you can’t become a member because you aren’t from a farm or farm-related background? Nope, you’re wrong! Anyone can join … don’t feel left out of the picture, we are nice … really, we are a lot of fun!

Here’s the down-low:

American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) is the national organization for Farm Bureau.
American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers is the national organization for the Young Farmers.

From the national level, the programs get divided between each state and then by county.
Maryland Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is for the state of Maryland.

Click on the map below to be directed to the link to find your county … we are from Frederick.

To join Young Farmers you must go through, and join your state’s farm bureau. This fee allows you discounts on other items and businesses, too! Bam…done!

Check out the artsy project we recently created for our county fair display this September. Peek-a-boo … do you see yourself in young farmers? This is just one board … we can’t show you the whole project and spoil the surprise!

New members are welcome to join now! See you soon!

Sunset kind of day.

Hello all,

Today is what I would call a “sunset” kind of day. You know, one of those days that you can just go at your own pace, don’t need to be anywhere anytime soon and just enjoy the moments God gives you.

I enjoyed little man staring outside our front door as he watched his Grandpa mow the yard. Fascinating what little minds will see in amazement! Scrapbook moment!! 🙂

Later on, he and I joined some close friends for a picnic. It’s so nice to be able to go to someone else’s family reunion and act as if you belong to that family … haha! Welp, we were and have always been. Little man was able to explore all around the yard, eat homemade ice cream and inspect every car’s tires that was parked in the driveway.

Tonight as his bath-water turned brown, I had to smile to myself at how lucky we are to be home-sweet-home!

Fun times had by all.

I can’t wait to attend the On-Stage Stampin’ Up! event held in Baltimore this November!!

Demonstrators from around the country always know how to have a good time … think you are up for a good time, too? Check out this link to join the fun! I would love to be your team upline!!

You don’t think you would be able to hold workshops and share the Stampin’ Up! experience?! I didn’t think I could do it either. I joined because it was my “hobby” … everyone needs a hobby, right? I’ve always enjoyed memory keeping, card making and preserving those special moments in time. So, I joined Stampin’ Up! for the amazing discount on fabulous paper, stamps, inks, adhesives, embellishments, die cutting, embossing … and the list goes on. 🙂 When you enjoy the special projects are you are doing to preserve memories it becomes not just a hobby or even a business, but a way to share and create … people enjoy a genuine interest in something fun … and so, it’s worked for me!

Here’s what you can get in the $99 starter kit! Ah, it’s like Christmas!! (Oh, did I forget to mention that as a demonstrator you get to reap benefits of a pre-order period for upcoming catalogs? Sweet! I’m currently checking out all of the holiday catalog items as we speak.)

Have more questions? Here’s a list of FAQs to becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.

A fair place to be …

I visited the Carroll Co. Fair today with little man and the family.

The dairy show was today (we have dairy cattle and show them at the fairs). Watching the kids with their 4-H animals reminded me of the fun I had as a youth member. It’s so nice to think that little man will be able to possibly share the same livelihood we grew up loving.
Both Brett and I grew up on dairy farms and was actively involved in 4-H. As a matter of fact, that’s how we were introduced! Watching little man run his chubby little legs off exploring the barns, animals and machinery made me smile.

As we were walking around the fairgrounds, I came across a display of benches. Each of the three benches were reserved for signatures for community representatives … Military, 4-H Leaders and cancer survivors.

This purple bench (cancer survivors) made me think of my upline Shirley. She loves the color purple!
Exploring a bit more, this time in the exhibitor hall, I found some scrapbook entries prepared by 4-H members. All of them, linened up to be judged were so well prepared and thought out … each sharing a story of their 4-H experiences.
I think little man won’t have any trouble warming up to the “critters” around here … he’s already making friends in all the right places. Maybe he will have is own scrapbook entry later on!
