To give and to receive … CHEER !! (Adopt a resident)

Dear Friends:

The holiday season is a time for family, friends and fun. Unfortunately, many people don’t have the same experience. What!?

If you’ve been participating in my annual “adopt a nursing home resident” program, you already know what I’m about to ask of you. Please, consider and read further …

With the holidays soon approaching, people will be spending hours at their local stores to find perfect gifts for their loved ones, young and old. Unfortunately, there will be thousands of nursing home residents who will be getting few, if any, gifts this season … it’s not always on purpose, they just are simply forgotten. Many of these elderly individuals have no friends or family and would benefit greatly in receiving presents from the caring members of society.
I ask you to consider “adopting” a resident at a local nursing home and donating a special gift for the holidays thru my program. In the past, residents have been truly excited to have a visitor, accept a gift and hand-made card. Did you know that many residents have bulletin boards in their rooms? Many will have them decorated with pictures and cards from loved ones … but there are still quite a few with nothing. Will you help me give each one that sense of happiness when they look to their boards? There’s nothing in comparison to the surprised look each resident gives when you come to visit THEM and hand them an item made by you! It’s awesome!! I have to admit, I’m a little selfish … it fills a void in my life as I no longer have my own grandparents to spend the holidays with, so I really really enjoy this. 🙂
Since I’ve had so many offers to help in the past, if there’s enough generosity to go around, I will be able to make this happen for other places, too! Giving a little more from our hearts this year, we have 200 residents to provide with gifts!
Here’s where I need your help:

$10 donation = 1 resident

Donation covers supplies for:

  • 1 hand-made holiday card with Stampin’ Up! products
  • 1 gift packaged and tagged bag
(bag to include grooming items, lotion or lip balm)

  • Friendly visit 🙂
All donations are tax deductible (please ask for receipt if needed).
Donations are due to me by December 15th!
Please email or call for donation address information.
Thank you!!

Blitzen ….. WHERE?!

Blitzen … reindeer, football, snowfall? Funny how everyone interprets that word differently. 😉

Well, football was on all weekend at our house (thanks to hunny) … and it’s not over yet. This week brings much much much more of that for all to enjoy (insert sarcasm). As the football games play, I stamp away.

It’s too warm yet for reindeer and Santa (yeah, in some places).

So, let’s talk about that white stuff … snow! I can’t say that I envy my Wisconsin friends at all since they have already experienced the season’s first snowfall. Brrrrr! Here’s a wintery card for my friends.

Working on my holiday cards again. Do you like this one? It’s using some of the products on the retiring holiday catalog list. Have you checked it out yet? Click the links below to see them!

Needing inspiration? Here’s a list of my favorite things from the retiring holiday catalog. Disclaimer: These items are my favorite and not all on the list are retiring. Check the retired list to see if you need these items like I did.

1.  Season to Season Wreath Project Kit … Item# 139645 (pg. 6)
This kit was a fun project to do with a group of friends. It’s intricate appeal is very vintage and can be enjoyed during multiple seasons by swapping out the banners. Watch the video for some building techniques HERE.
2. Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper … Item# 139592 (pg. 9)
There are a few designer series papers that will be retiring, but my favorite is this pack. The “old time” paper reminds me of wrapping paper my grandmother used to use in her gift wrapping. I just love the reindeer, too! Curious to see how Stampin’ Up! makes their designer series papers? Check out this VIDEO

3. Real Red Pom Pom Trim … Item# 139617 (pg. 9)
There’s a lot of ribbons and embellishments created by Stampin’ Up!, but I just love Pom Pom Trim in any color! It really makes a project “pop” off the page.
See the reindeer above in the DSP? Try planting a red nose on one with this trim. Instant Rudolph!
4. Festive Fireside Framelits Dies … Item# 139668 (pg. 10)
These dies and stamps (below) go hand-in-hand when it comes to creating a cute card. I love how I can build my own fire to my own preference. It’s not just for Christmas either, I can use these two sets for any time of the year, too.
Save on both by ordering as a bundle …
Item# 140860
Check out the Happy Scenes VIDEO to see how you can coordinate with this stamp set, too!
 5. Festive Fireplace stamp set … Item# 139754
(pg. 10)
This stamp set is very versatile in a way that will make you wish you didn’t order it sooner. Try pairing it with another stamp set or framelit to “spring” into more options.

 6. Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies … Item# 139670 (pg. 12)
These edgelits dies are so awesome! If you are looking for something to really make a statement in your cards or scrapbooking designs then this is the product for you!
Pair it with the Jingle All the Way stamp set by making it a bundle and save, too.

7. Jingle All the Way stamp set …
Item# 139904 (Wood)
Item# 139907 (Clear) (pg. 12)
Here’s a video to show you how fun it is to use these products together HERE.
Bundle and Save 15% by using the codes in the box to the left !!
8. Acron Builder Punch … Item# 139681 (pg. 45)
If you followed my OnStage journey, then you already know that I used these stamps and punch for my swap
I’ve just been so “nutty” over this punch. It’s super easy to use and allows me to make different types of layers.
9. Acorny Thank You … Item# 139718 (pg. 45)
If you have the punch, how could you not have the stamp set?! It’s such a good combination that everyone will enjoy getting cards with these two products.
Even better … bundle and save 15% off with the Item# 140841.
10. Joyful Season stamp set … Item# 139770 (pg. 29)
I’m saving the best for last. I just love this cute little cardinal builder stamp set. I’ve seen so many different variations with this stamp set that it is a hands-down must for any stamper!
Pair this with the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper or Cardstock Stack and you have yourself the perfect match for any project.
There you have it! That’s my top 10 holiday catalog list. Of course, I just graced over the tip of the iceburg. There are many more items in this catalog that will inspire you.

Swap me !!

Swapping is one of my favorite parts about Stampin’ Up! events. Sharing ideas with other demonstrators is such a fun activity to do. If you don’t know what swapping is then let me explain.

Here’s what I made to swap:

I made 20 of them to “swap” with other demonstrators at the OnStage event in Baltimore. It’s really fun to do because all of that demonstrator’s information is included on the reverse side of the card. I really enjoy checking out their websites and blogs for more inspiration.

Here’s some of the swaps that I received:

That’s all for now! I’ll let you “oogle” over these beauties and pick back up later this week.

Good morning Baltimore !!!

Ha…I’ve been waiting months to sing that tune. 😉

I’m here in the midst of Orioles’ nation and the harbor to visit with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators for OnStage.

We’re having so much fun learning about the new products and swapping our cards.

I already have a ton of ideas for future designs and classes. There’s a few stamp sets that I know some of my customers will love, just because I know their personalities!

I can’t even wait to show you all of the new products, very soon. Due to the time difference in each OnStage area we are asked to hold off posting pictures and designs from the Occasions and Sale-a-ration catalogs until Sunday (MT) at 10pm. (CORRECTION: The pamphlet we were mailed and the information we were given at OnStage contrasted. We are not able to post any new product information until Monday (MT) at 10pm.)
With that said … here’s a shot of us having fun. Do you see how excited we are?! I know, I am excited to show you!
See you soon!
