Beary good for my heart.

We are currently snowed in here on the East Coast, so if we wish to not go stir crazy then we need to think of a few ways to keep ourselves entertained. I’ve probably cleaned the house a few times and the laundry pile is down to a manageable level.

My brother’s girlfriend, Mary was happy to receive her Paper Pumpkin in the mail this week. So, we spread out on the kitchen table.

This month’s Paper Pumpkin was full of hearts just in time for Valentine’s Day, I really enjoyed stamping them. Mary is going to make a banner with hers for her classroom bulletin board … such a cute idea, and so easy, too!

With so many colors to choose from it was easy to incorporate themes for each boy and girl in her classroom.

I also like the idea from Stampin’ Up! to use two hearts by taping them together to form a pocket for cookies and other treats. Yum!

I had enough hearts left over after making my banner so I used them for a door decoration of balloons and plan to use them in a scrapbook layout.

I’m all ready for spring! Well, at least for Valentine’s Day anyway. I guess there’s another snow day tomorrow.

Here’s this weeks deals for ya’ll…

Do you see the bear hugs framelits dies in this week’s deals? I think these are adorable!

I have so many uses for these bears. They have coordinating stamps that go with them, too!

Spring has sprung …

Oh wait, nope it’s still winter.

I think Mother Nature was a tad bit confused over the course of December and into January. I’ve never seen such a “green” winter! Short sleeves and comfortable outside temperatures were on deck until well, really this week.
Last night was the first snowfall of the season, no sledding, just a light dusting.
Ah well, I like to dream of warmer weather and spring/summer so, I stick my frost-bitten nose into my new Occasions catalog and look to the pages with flowers.

This page, in particular is the picture of spring. Even better, this comes in a bundle!

I makes a pretty card, doesn’t it?
I’m also so frozen to the bone for another reason. My in-laws are away, in Jamacia … in the warm, toasty sun. So, my brother-in-law and I are holding down the fort, sprinkled in with a few cousins. Oh yeah, it’s a dairy farm … hence my cheese in my crafters name. 😉

So, in honor of the bovine babes, I’m going to share with you the Barnyard Babes stamp set. This is in the Annual catalog, which can still be used for Sale-a-bration tallies. Sweet!

It’s probably one of my favorite stamp sets since it’s so versatile in my collection for my life.

Which one works with yours?

A birthday surprise!

The new occasions catalog is full of fun products for any type of festivities.
A birthday celebration is the first event I think of when a person mentions “greeting cards.” As the birth of a new year regenerates life for many, we, in our family celebrate quite a few birthdays right from the start!

My mother-in-law, Anita is first up, we celebrated in BBQ style at one of our favorite local joints. Here she is sharing her ice cream with little man.
Next at bat is my brother Daryl. Celebrating at home with his new baby bundle was “present” enough for all of us.
So a cake was of course, on the menu. Yum!

Dude’s not a lady so I decided to share his age. I keep reminding him of how old he’s getting … wink, wink.

Do these look familiar? Yes, they are the large numbers framelits dies from the occasions catalog. I decided to slap them right on the cake and use them as a border for the sprinkles.

I think it turned out pretty well. Yeah, you add a little frosting to your designs, but it’s nothing a little soap and water won’t remove. Just remember to pat them dry.

Did I surprise you? I hope so … isn’t that what you are supposed to do on a birthday?

New catalogs are LIVE !!

Today is the big day!!

The Occasions catalog AND Sale-a-bration catalog are online and live to the public. Are you excited?

Big Shot Die Brush Item# 140603

This brush is so awesome! I really struggled with my intricate dies and would put-off using them since they were so hard to get out of the cutters, but with this brush, it makes that task simple.

Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies Item# 140621

Speaking of thinlits dies, I really love this Bloomin’ Heart. I think it will go with a lot of special designs in my projects. If you like this die and also the stamp set, then don’t forget to bundle them for your extra 15 percent off.

Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper Item# 140557

One can never have enough DSP, and this paper is amazing. I love the colors and designs. There’s plenty in here to offer to just about anyone on any occasion.

You have mail.

I love going to the mailbox!

Getting mail is a fun task of my day. Magazines, bills, brochures … handmade cards. 🙂 The holidays are especially an exciting time for the receiving of mail. I enjoy looking through the holiday cards and pictures of our friends and family.

I will take down the tree this week and it only seems fitting to share some of the special cards I received this year from friends who live in Wisconsin.

This first card is from a friend who has a very “merry and bright” personality. Cathy is a friend I met at a scrapbook club event. She is super fun! It’s fitting that she used stars in her card as she herself shines her light to everyone like a star.

Design by Cathy Hare (Stampin’ Up!)

The second card is from a friend I also met at a scrapbook club. Shawny and Cathy are a “hoot” together and enjoy spending time together getting their scrap and card-making on! Reindeer are my favorite during Christmas.

Design by Shawny Holcomb (Stampin’ Up!)

Victoria is a very intricate crafter who really has fun with her designs. I met her at a scrapping retreat weekend getaway. She’s a giving person who enjoys giving back to people. I love this window card, she took her time adding color to the lights in the scene.

Design by Victoria Metz (Stampin’ Up!)

Lastly, this next card is from someone you’ve heard me speak of before … my upline, Shirley. She always has a fun way of using different colors in her designs. The designer series paper is from the holiday catalog and is so cute and quaint.

Design by Shirley Merker (Stampin’ Up!)

I hope you enjoyed a look into my maibox from this holiday season! And … to close with a little bit of cuteness. Don’t you just want to pinch those little cheeks on my cute little niece?!

New year, more fun!

Enough shop talk … I want to introduce you to a little bundle of cuteness that was born during the holidays. I’m an auntie!
Meet miss Avery Blake.

She’s so tiny and precious! We are just so excited to get to share in the raising of this little lady by family.
Our family also enjoyed several Christmas celebrations as we are now closer to home.

And of course, the addition of tradition … spending time with those who are friends to us.

My New Year’s resolution is to add more crafting time to my pallet, and begin to show you more of my creativity in my cards and other projects.
What’s yours?
