Classes available at Moxley’s!

Hello all!

Introducing card classes at Moxley’s shop in Mt. Airy instructed by yours truly!

Classes

Each vendor of the store has the opportunity to hold a class to help interested customers try their hand at a handy craft.

Come out and see me and make some cute cards, browse the shop or just visit to say hello!

RSVP today to catch your spot!

Oh baby, baby!

Do you know someone ready to pop … uh, I mean, have a baby? 😉

Need a card? I have a super sweet gender neutral card just for you waiting to be picked at Moxley’s Wooden Bowls and Handcrafted Items (305 S. Main St., Mt. Airy).

Doesn’t this card just want to make you squeeze some chubby cheeks?

Here’s what I used to make it: (Ribbon and stamp retired.)

Is your dad a pirate?

If he was a pirate … just think how cool that could be!!

I have the best Father’s Day card ever! 🙂 I first grabbed the new By the Shore desinger series paper and thought to myself, yep, pirate … way cool.

However, the more I looked at the card I can see a show choir man. Did you see I broke out the retired mustache framelit? Oh no she didn’t … oh snap, oh yes she did! 😉

Your dad could be Mr. Peanut, just add a spectacle and a cane.

Or add a tie instead of a bow and he could be a sailor.

Your dad could be your mom, too. If you’ve never known him … or he wasn’t around.

This man you call dad could be the guy who walked you down the asile … or patted you on the back when you had your own kids.

Your dad could be the guy who took you fishing or out for some one-on-one time.

Dads could be farmers who their kids and grandkids look to with amazement.

Lubby dubby

My son is cute. I am pretty biased however, he is so sweet at times and I can catch a “softy-moment” during his constant “on-the-go” toddler lifestyle. I call him my “lovey dovey” and he quickly repeats “lubby dubby.” Cute, right?

I’m going to get all “lubby dubby” on you now … I’ve been working on adding a few more cards to my sale rack as the wedding season in upon us.

I’ve fallen in love with this Floral Phrases (Clear mount) bundle with framelits (Item # 142355). It’s so easy to use with the big shot die brush (Item # 140603).

Framelits only shown

I loved the example cards shown in the new catalog so I recreated some of those examples.

Then I went a little color crazy! I think this next one would be fitting for a West Virginia wedding or anniversary (wink, wink … friends)!

Then I added another round of colors and a graduation cap to honor a most recent alumni to my own Alma Mater (go Aggies!).

Let’s go camping!

I was recently asked to do a special anniversary card for a friend and welp, the cute couple are both avid campers and hikers (let’s say outdoorsy). As a matter of fact, the prettier of the two has a blog about special places to go hiking in Maryland (check that out here.)

Anyhow, by now, this friend was hopefully able to share this special card with his wife.

I love outdoorsy-themed cards and this was one of the fun stamps use to color inside. This is from the You’re Sublime set.

Speaking of outdoor fun, Stampin’ Up!’s new catalog has a few wildlife-themed stamp sets like the Always an Adventure bundle and the In the Meadow.

I’m excited to get started with some of the new stamp sets now that I received my shipment of new catalog items! Whoo hoo!

New Catalog

Moxley’s grand opening!

This month showcased the grand opening of Moxley’s Wooden Bowls and Handcrafted Items! The mayor of the town was in attendance for the ribbon cutting and official blessing of the shop, while visitors browsed the shelves and munched on cookies.

Mayor Patrick T. Rockinberg cut the official ribbon on 305 Main Street, Mt. Airy, with some awesome scissors. Just look at the size of those scissors … you could do some serious crafting with them!

I’m very excited to share that I have a card rack in this shop and hope many locals will be able to enjoy my greeting cards. Wooden bowls aren’t the only items up for grabs as Moxley’s has something to offer from crafty people and vendors in the community.

Mark Moxley is the owner of this fine shop in downtown Mt. Airy, Md. He specializes in handcrafted wooden bowls, cutting boards and a few other wooden products. Mark has and still does sell his bowls at the Farm Women’s Co-operative Market in Bethesda, Md. The unique downtown market once dubbed Montgomery Farm Women’s Cooperative Market began in 1932. Montgomery County is full of people with the Moxley name, and Mark’s family was a staple at the farmer’s market. (Click here to read more about the farmer’s market.)

Does the name Moxley sound familar? Well, if you’ve put the links together you will have noticed that we are distantly related. How cool is that!? My grandparents Maloy and Ruby, on my mom’s side, were Moxleys. I will update you on the Moxley heritage in another post as it’s quite lengthy.

June holds an awesome promotion, too!

MORE FREE STUFF when you purchase supplies greater than $150. You can earn Stampin’ Rewards that are used to pick up free products to best fit your needs.

In June, Stampin’ Up! elevated the Stampin’ Rewards deal by offering an additional $35 for orders greater than $350. If that’s not an incentive then maybe it’s inspiring enough to gather some friends together to combine orders?

Screen Shot 2016-06-01 at 1.56.53 AM

Here’s a quick rundown of how beneficial this can be using some examples of three different price points:

  • A $350 order earns $42 of Stampin’ Rewards.  $42 + $35 = $77 in June
  • A $400 orders earns $48 of Stampin’ Rewards.  $48 + $35 = $83 in June
  • A $450 order earns $63 of Stampin’ Rewards + one 1/2 off item.  $63 + $35 = $98 + one 1/2 off item in June

They are really making it easy for us to stock up on the wishlist items!

  • Customer, demonstrator, workshop and online orders qualify for this promotion.
  • Qualifying orders must qualify with commissionable merchandise prior to shipping and tax.

Looking for something a little more exciting? Still on the fence about taking the Stampin’ Up! opportunity?

Screen Shot 2016-06-01 at 2.00.32 AM

Perhaps the easiest way to check off items from your wishlist from the Catalog is to purchase Stampin’ Up!’s Starter Kit – and earn TWO FREE STAMP SETS (of your choice) at the same time. Stampin’ Up!’s Starter Kit is the Ultimate Bundle – for just $99, you get to pick $125 of YOUR CHOICE of product and FREE SHIPPING on your Starter Kit. After you join, you earn 20% off any orders you place while you are still active (with potential to earn bigger discounts).

Here’s some more information about this exciting promotion (including some great reasons to be a part of my amazing team):

  • This promotion runs from June 1, 2016  through June 30, 2016.
  • When you buy the Starter Kit during June, you can choose two stamp sets from the new annual catalog to be included in the Starter Kit for free. That’s a value of up to $104!  This promotion is specifically for stamp sets – bundles and kits are not included.
  • You have no obligation to buy another thing after you join, and you never have to sell to anyone else if you choose not to.
  • When you join Cheesencrafters, my Stampin’ Up! community, you are part of a large group of stampers from all over the U.S. Our online team has lots of fun with loads of inspiration and great friendships.
  • We love hobbyists who enjoy the discount on their Stampin’ Up! products and support those who want to host events and sell to others. We welcome new team members and former demonstrators to the group.
